CARROUSEL
Together, spinning, swinging and turning: the fair was and is a meeting place. It used to be one of the few diversions for the people of the village. At the fair, contact was made with the surrounding villagers, and out of these encounters lifelong relationships emerged. Today the fair is mainly mass entertainment. The Tilburg fair had a record number of one and a half million visitors. Is there still room for some nostalgia?
This short documentary film was commissioned by Treasures of Brabant, a project of the Brabant Province, where archival material gets a new meaning, and the connection is made between past and present.
